Snapshots
An IOTA snapshot is an image of all value ledger addresses. This is required by new IOTA nodes in order to be able to participate in the network, since pruning means that not all nodes can provide all of the ledger's information and thus a sync, e.g., from the genesis, is not possible.
A snapshot should only be obtained from a trusted source.
